Do you know who you are?

You + Christ = Wholeness and Meaning.
You – Christ = Nothing.

The number 1 need we have is acceptance.
The number 1 fear people have is rejection.

Do you feel important?
Do you feel accepted?


    Who we are is not determined by gifts, beauty, talents, or intelligence.  Who we are is not determined by what we do...who we are determines what we do.  As Christians, we are not believers trying to become Saints...we are Saints trying to become like Christ.  As Christians, it is not what we do that determines who we are... it is who we are that determines what we do.

     Are you living a free and productive life?  If you are a Christian, do not suffer from a false identity.  Take the roller coaster ride out of your life, and live in assurance...believe who God says you are.  To live as an effective Christian we must know who we are in Christ.  If we think we are a bum, we will live like a bum.  If we think we are mentally ill, we will live as if we are mentally ill.  As Christians, we are blessed, and we should live accordingly.  Knowing who we are is one of the most important knowledges of truth that we can possess.

     Listen to who God says you are...not who Satan or other people say you are.  Do not let Satan distort your self image.


Look at who God says we are:

1 John 1:12  -We are God's Children.
John 15:15  -We are Christ’s friend.
Romans 5:1  -We are Justified.
1 Corinthians 6:17 -We are united with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:20 -We are bought with a price.
1 Corinthians 12:27 -We are members of Christ’s body.
Ephesians 1:1  -We are Saints.
Ephesians 1:5  -We are adopted as God’s children.
Ephesians 2:18  -We have direct access to God.
Colossians 1:14  -We are redeemed and forgiven.
Colossians 2:10  -We are complete in Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:1  -We are free from condemnation.
Romans 8:28  -We are assured that all things work together for good.
Romans 8:31  -We are free from charges.
Romans 8:35  -We can not be separated from the love of God.
2 Corinthians 1:21 -We are established, anointed, and sealed by God.
Phillippians 1:6  -We can be confident in God’s work in us.
Phillippians 3:20  -We are citizens of Heaven.
Colossians 3:3  -We are hidden with God in Christ.
2 Timothy 1:7  -We do not have the spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind.
Hebrews 4:16  -We find grace and mercy in times of need.
1 John 5:18  -We are born of God and the evil one can not touch us.
Matthew 5:13  -We are the salt and light of the Earth.
John 15:1, 5  -We are the branch of the true vine.
John 15:16  -We are chosen to bear fruit.
Acts 1:8   -We are a personal witnesses of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:16 -We are God’s temple.
2 Corinthians 5:16 -We are ministers of the reconciliation for God.
2 Corinthians 6:1  -We are God’s co-workers.
Ephesians 2:6  -We are seated with Christ.
Ephesians 2:10  -We are God’s workmanship.
Ephesians 3:12  -We may approach God with freedom and confidence.
