3 Levels of Operation
The level at which we operate will determine the quality of how we relate to others.

Level 1-Spirit
Seeing influences, reasons, and causes of our behavior and situations from the Biblical perspective.
Decisions and actions are based on Knowledge of the Word (knowing the right thing to do and doing it).
Resolution comes by practicing mercy and grace.
Results: successful communication; resolution and prevention of conflicts.

Level 2-Secular
Seeing influences, reasons, and causes of our behavior and situations from a worldly perspective.
Decisions and actions are based on secular reasoning, such as evidence, history, The Law*, theory, psychology, works, medicine, traditions, or popular trends/expectations.
Results: communication may work or fail; partial resolution; conflict may remain, repeat, or get worse.

Level 3-Self
Seeing influences, reasons, and causes of behavior and situations as another person’s fault.
Decisions and actions are based on feelings, such as mood, fear, anger, guilt, jealousy, pride, or frustration.
Results: very weak or no communication; no resolution; conflict remains and grows worse.

*Galatians 3:10-13 (NIV) All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because “the righteous will live by faith.”  The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The man who does these things will live by them.”  Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.... (v.24)  So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.  Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. (5:18) But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
